I received a very pleasant anf free phone call from Norway today. Normally when someone from Norway calls someone in Missouri they probably don’t think you have been to their country. But I flew in to Trondheim in the middle of winter one year, and I had business up in Boda. I was quite an experience above the arctic circle in the middle of winter. Yes, it was cold, but not as cold as I expected. I only experienced one white-out during my two weeks of work. Seeing the northern lights certainly made up for it many times over.

RingCentral has a new call controller which promises to be a great improvement. In addition to the normal features such as monitoring your RingCentral telephone line or virtual PBX, the new call controller lets you dial out. RingCentral is becoming a full VoIP service. The new call controller also gives you one-click access to your message folder and recent calls. You can dial out using your address book, create and send a fax, or open your online account. If you are assigned an extension in your company’s virtual PBX the software will open that extension online.

I received a telephone call from Egypt today and it was so clear and crisp it was astonishing. The caller was a woman, and her child was talking in the background. This call reminded me of a call I received from the Ukraine one day back when we were running VoIP tests years ago. In that case you could hear birds in the background, and the caller’s radio was playing softly in the distance. We both spoke in english and enjoyed the conversation.
