When I go fishing I spend most of my time in Warsaw Missouri. My AT&T cell phone service is not very good and my AT&T wireless service is slow. MagicJack does not use much bandwidth so it still works great with my wireless service.

Jaxtr, which we’ve written about over the last few years, has gained more than 10 million total users through a widget and other tools for making cheap or free calls between your computer and the world.

The company’s brand will stay separate from Mountain View, Calif.-based SabSe, although other parts of its technology will be integrated, according to the press release. SabSe offers a “Telephony Applications as a Service” platform and a web-based application programming interface, both intended to help telecommunications companies build quality voice services for the web.

Dial that number on your phone and choose “FreeConnect” from the options.

Stay on the phone and wait for your friend to call in. Jaxtr texts your friend an SMS notifaction with a local number to call in and get connected to you while you wait.

If you are a registered member, use the FreeConnect option by pressing “0″ and then “2″ after you hear the voice prompt when you call. If you are not a registered member, FreeConnect is automatically chosen for you.

Note that if your friend does not receieve jaxtr’s SMS notification, then you will need to inform your friend by other means (such as email, IM, or a direct call) of the local number to call to get connected to you. Jaxtr will not charge for this service, but your phone company’s normal charges still apply.

My wife has been to Italy but I have not. For those of you that follow our conversations with other Jaxtr users you might already know that I have been to Sweden and surrounding countries. Mobile and landline calls in the United States are less a penny per minute. Landline calls to the United Kingdom are also less than a penny per minute. That is the best deal I’ve seen for my international calls.

The caller told me that what happens in India is that the caller uses his cell phone to call my Jaxtr number in the United States, which rings to my cell phone. The call is free. To call anybody else you can call any landline or cell phone around the world on your existing phone with Jaxtr and bypass international or long distance charges of your phone company. Jaxtr is much easier than using a calling card because you can use their local speed dial numbers.

During my travels I remember watching television and listening to music in many countries. It is a great way to immerse yourself in the culture. I remember watching television in Russia, where newscasts usually featured a soldier in uniform and a woman in regular clothes. Those were the news anchors. In Germany I was amazed when one radio station played country music. In Denmark I stayed with friends and was a guest in their home for a week.

Consider a scenario for a consumer who has bought the third Premium Membership and decided to call India. The rate for calling India is 6 jax/minute. Moving 43 websites to a new web server is not an easy task. However, the real slowdown was when our house sold a few weeks ago. It was on the market for a couple of months but given the problems in the mortgage and finance markets I did not expect both major moves at the same time. Adding insult to injury, as some would say, I was also the winning bidder for exterior painting of two homes. The weather was nice and the pay was good for an old retired guy, and I did not want to disappoint anyone. Now you can see why I am behind in writing.

It’s all good though. In my travels I discovered a neat idea from Google for those of you that want to create a website. Google makes it very easy, with no huge learning curve. As for our MagicJack testing, the service has been active for 30 days. It works well. We also found out that when you sell your house it is nice to carry the little MagicJack USB unit with you.
