I received a very pleasant anf free phone call from Norway today. Normally when someone from Norway calls someone in Missouri they probably don’t think you have been to their country. But I flew in to Trondheim in the middle of winter one year, and I had business up in Boda. I was quite an experience above the arctic circle in the middle of winter. Yes, it was cold, but not as cold as I expected. I only experienced one white-out during my two weeks of work. Seeing the northern lights certainly made up for it many times over.

I have seen the northern lights in Alaska, also in the middle of January. One of the most memorable moments of my trip to Norway was the moment the northern lights started dancing in the sky, and the reaction of those who had never seen them before (which was almost everyone). My thoughts and memories of Norway are fond ones. Thanks to Jaxtr I was able to discuss those memories with someone in Norway. The call was free, as always.

Someone recently asked if all of my writings are true. The answer is yes. I started travelling in the mid 1950′s. I have memories of those days. My brother is just a few years younger, and I find it interesting that he has no memory of my formative years. He was too young.
